We create exhibits around the Richmond area in different event spaces, in order to highlight amazing local artists and their work.
The Art Seen Residency Program is an opportunity that we grant emerging artists to receive a variety of resources, experiences and exposure to expand their artistic reach.
Alora Bess, is a Virginia based multidisciplinary artist who's capturing the world through her lens. Telling the story of black experience and all it's nuances. Allowing those who view her work to step into the world she not only creates but lives daily. Stripping down barriers of thought while challenging the norms of societal expectations.
ā
Alora's collection of art explores the intersection of identity and shared experience. She often draws inspiration from black American culture and connecting the diaspora through past, present and future. You can visit her full collection at Urban Hang Suite or here until March 31st, 2026!

BLACK & BLUE is about discomfort and the courage to step into it. This work explores the moments that challenge us— the risks and experiences that may bruise us on the surface but bring us closer to who we truly are.
ā
Being black and blue is not about the marks left behind, but about what is revealed through them. This exhibition reflects a process of self-discovery, resilience and becoming inviting viewers to sit with discomfort and consider what is gained when we choose growth over ease.
ā
The exhibit is live throughout February at Chromophore Artspace in Richmond, VA so stop on by to check out this amazing exhibit!
